WORK AREAS
The Ararteko’s work areas have always been structured by subject matter and also handle issues affecting particularly vulnerable groups. In this regard, and based on the conviction that the institution of the Ararteko has to guarantee the rights of all persons, preference needs to be given to those groups likely to face obstacles to the exercising of their rights, as they are potentially in situations of greater vulnerability. Those work areas dedicated to particularly vulnerable groups are intended to realise this principle.
Therefore, in addition to the 2 specialist offices (Children and Young People’s Rights Department and International and European Affairs Department), the Ararteko’s work is organised according to the different areas by subject-matter (16) and areas providing assistance to groups deserving special attention (9).
